The Sinders Bridal Team

Stacey

Stacey is our co-owner and resident social media director, fashionista, and dreamer who keeps the Sinders team growing and the creativity flowing. Having worked in the bridal industry since the tender age of 16, Stacey has moved up the ranks from stylist to owner, and now Jolicoeur designer.

But one thing that has never wavered over the years is Stacey’s passion for all things bridal and getting to play a role in a bride’s happiness on her big day.

A self-described eccentric with a zest for life, fashion, learning new things, and meeting new people, it’s no surprise that Stacey’s favourite bridal trends include cutting edge designs that push the mold, fitted gowns that hug a bride’s curves, dramatic capes, and lots and LOTS of accessories.

In her spare time, you can usually find Stacey posting Insta-stories to the Sinders Instagram page, foraging through local antique shops, and staying active with her kids through skiing, hiking, biking, and travelling.

Stacey’s mottos is “when in doubt, give it a try anyway,” which is the same advice she gives to all brides that walk through Sinders Bridal House.

“Be open-minded about what style of gown you are looking for and don’t bring a lot of people to your appointment. More opinions often mean more confusion.”

Meghan

Meghan, AKA co-owner/CFO/wearer of many hats, is our resident in-house firefighter, working behind the scenes to support the rest of the team and our brides day in, day out.

Like her sister Stacey, Meghan entered the bridal industry as a teenager and never looked back, which means that over the years, she’s seen a lot of wedding dresses. But to this day, classic, elegant gowns with lace bodices and long sleeves remain her favourite to style brides (or herself!) in.

Passionate about learning, growing, and understanding how to be a better leader, Meghan puts these skills to work as she supports our stylists in their understanding of, and connection to each of their brides. At the end of the day, helping brides understand their inner and outer beauty so they can break through any personal fears is Meghan’s favourite part about working in the bridal industry. Her motto? If ‘Plan A’ doesn’t work, the alphabet has 25 more letters.

So, what advice does Meghan have to offer Sinders brides?

“Not every bride has an aha moment. The way you know it’s your gown could be that you can’t stop thinking about it, you compare it to every other gown, or you don’t want to take it off. It’s like falling in love, it isn’t always immediate.”

Amanda

Sinders manager, stylist, and go-to expert on anything bridal, Amanda has been with Sinders for over a decade, having started as a volunteer high school student. Starting to see a pattern here?

For Amanda, in all areas of life, customization is key, from adding personal touches at home to customizing bridal gowns. She loves getting to see brides light up in a gown that fits their exact vision and helps them feel stunning and confident.

Whether it’s helping our brides pick out or create their dream gown, or making sure their gown arrives on schedule and looks perfect before they arrive, Amanda is your biggest advocate every step of the way, from your first visit to Sinders up to the moment when you finally walk down the aisle. She truly loves the creativity involved in getting to know all brides and making their vision come to life, but if she had to choose for herself, classic and timeless styles always win.

In her spare time, you can find Amanda relaxing at the cottage with her hubby and two dogs.

Amanda’s advice for brides? Go big or go home!

“When do you have another opportunity to wear a big ballgown?!”

Kim

Bilingual bridal stylist, bookkeeper, and Meghan’s right-hand woman, Kim’s journey with Sinders began 5 years ago after emailing Meghan over and over again until she agreed to an interview. It’s safe to say Kim is a woman that isn’t afraid to go after what she wants in life, and we couldn’t be happier to have her as a part of the Sinders family.

Kim’s favourite part about working one-on-one with brides is seeing their excitement as they plan for such an amazing step in their lives and getting to be a part of that with them.

From hand-picking next season’s gowns to awaiting their arrival, Kim has first-hand knowledge and insight about the latest bridal styles and looks, along with a quiet ability to understand what makes our brides feel their best. These are among her strongest assets when helping brides find their dream gown and accessories – but her favourite picks are always dramatic lace-edged veils and statement ballgowns.

In her spare time, you can usually find Kim curled up with a good book, watching movies, or spending time outdoors.

Kim’s advice for brides?

“Keeping your own opinion and feelings is essential. Accept those of the others that came with you, but remember that your instinct needs to be the most prominent.”

Debbie

After a slew of other careers, from working as a telephone operator and an office assistant in the oil industry to childcare, Debbie found her home at Sinders as a bridal stylist 12 years ago and has loved every minute since.

Her personal mantra is to live each day to the fullest and always go above and beyond to support the Sinders team and help our brides find their gown.

Whether it’s encouraging brides to think outside the box and try on styles they may not have thought to try or listening patiently to try and capture a bride’s vision, Debbie is incredibly honest and sympathetic in nature, and always has your best interests at heart. She knows her job is done when a bride is brought to tears with happiness when she has on the dress of her dreams. Simply put, Debbie is someone you want in your corner when shopping for your bridal gown.

In her spare time, you can find Debbie diving into a good book, cooking up a storm, or spending time with friends and family.

Debbie’s best piece of advice to brides?

“Keep your entourage to a minimum if possible.”

Ruth

After 38 years of working in banking, Ruth ventured into the bridal industry post-retirement working as a Sinders bridal stylist, steamer extraordinaire, and self-described paper pusher.

Ruth’s calm, steadfast nature supports brides (and fellow team members) when things start to get overwhelming. Her thoughtful approach makes her invaluable to the brides she works with.

And the feeling is mutual. Ruth loves the positivity and happiness that helping women feel confident and beautiful in their bridal gowns brings. But when it comes to gowns, she doesn’t like to play favourites, as it all comes down to the individual bride and what shape makes her feel amazing.

In her spare time, Ruth remains active within her church and loves expressing her creativity through beading, quilting, and knitting.

Ruth’s advice for your appointment at Sinders?

“Wear underwear.”

Jodie

Having worked in the travel industry for over 30 years and later branching out into weddings and events, moving over to bridal gowns at Sinders in 2018 was a natural progression, making the role of Wedding Dress Stylist a perfect fit for Jodie.

Her past experience in sales and event coordination make Jodie invaluable to our brides, as she has a deep understanding of how things should naturally unfold and all the little details that go into planning a wedding. Jodie also has a knack for forming deep connections with brides and taking mental snapshots of their likes and dislikes in order to incorporate all their ideas into one single gown. But of course, like most of our stylists, Jodie has her favourites that she loves seeing brides in – she’s a sucker for boho styles and loves a good fit-and-flare!

Besides helping brides find their gowns, Jodie is also our go-to person for receiving dresses as they arrive and inspecting each one closely to make sure everything is perfect before being handed over to the anxiously awaiting brides to be!

In her spare time, you can find Jodie spending time with family, gardening, and travelling.

Jodie’s advice?

“Enjoy the process, don’t be nervous, don’t stress, and pick the dress you want, not the one everyone else wants!”

Courtney

Starting off her career in automotive sales and consulting, Courtney wanted more of an emotional connection when working with customers, which led to her exploring a career as a bridal stylist at Sinders. Because what better way to build an emotional connection than to be a part of the most special day in a person’s life?

Courtney is the life of the party at Sinders (as long as the party ends at 9:00!) and loves getting to wear many sparkly hats – from getting to know brides and helping them find their dream dress to brainstorming ideas for YouTube and planning other exciting projects. She is truly passionate about learning something new every day, achieving personal and professional development and loves growing alongside the Sinders family.

A self-described major foodie, in her spare time, you can usually find Courtney checking out new restaurants with her close friends.

With a love of feathers, textured fabrics, and curve-hugging fit-and-flare gowns, Courtney’s mantra is to keep your lashes long, and your standards high, which is why she offers the following advice for all brides:

“Make sure you have the right people with you when you come in to find your dress.”

The Sinders Knight

The silent watchman of Sinders Bridal House, the Sinders Knight has been as much a part of the family as he is a beloved part of the building. In fact, he’s quite the popular character—all the brides want to get their photo taken with this brave knight!
